Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Saturday issued guidelines on the works of Mallanna Sagar project. The order said that the government accorded administrative approval for consultancy services for preparation of DPR to the Wapcos and released Rs 2.72 crore for the purpose.
It may be mentioned here that the residents of Etigadda Kistapur and 13 other villages are up in arms against the government and vowed not to part with their lands for the projects. They are insisting on getting compensation under the Land Acquisition Act, 2013, instead of the package being offered by the State government as per the GO 123.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) public representatives and party leaders submitted memoranda to the local officials in the districts across the State on Saturday urging the State government to take up the project work while contending that the project would be a boon to the State, starved of rainfall and lack of irrigation facilities.
