Officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have woken up from slumber and have responded to the JAGO RE campaign initiated by The Hans India and HMTV on fixing open manholes which have been posing grave danger to its denizens across the city.

Hyderabad: Officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation have woken up from slumber and have responded to the JAGO RE campaign initiated by The Hans India and HMTV on fixing open manholes which have been posing grave danger to its denizens across the city.

Strangely, the corporation succeeded in repairing only 15 manhole covers against the 55 identified by The Hans India and HMTV as part of their campaign.

Though the civic body officials responded promptly in several areas, the situation continues to remain grim as they have carried out works on either important arterial roads or where the movement of pedestrians is high.

Reacting to the campaign, the civic authorities have restored manhole covers at Champapet, Srinivasa Hospital in Santosh Nagar, near Reliance Fresh in Nagole, Tumbe Hospital near Chaderghat bridge, Niloufer Road in Lakdikapul, Reddy Colony, Rockwell Colony and opposite DVM college in LB Nagar,

Habsiguda X roads, opposite metro station in Kukatpally, near Mythrivanam in Ameerpet, Jubilee Hills Road no 39, Lingampally railway station in Chandanagar, near Kotla Bhaskar stadium in Yousufguda and Neredmet X roads.
