The High Court at Hyderabad on Thursday issued notices to Telangana State Public Service Commission over the conduct of Group II examination. It directed it to file a counter affidavit within three weeks.
Justice M S Ramachandra Rao gave this direction while hearing a Writ petition filed by M Ravinder Goud and 19 others challenging the merit list issued by the TSPSC on June 1 for Group II examination.
Appearing for the petitioners, counsel B Rachna Reddy informed the judge that many irregularities took place in the recruitment process for Group II posts, particularly in relation to evaluation of OMR answer sheets.
She said despite clear instructions regarding the procedure for filling up OMR answer sheets, many students who had not followed the instructions were selected in the merit list. Also, there was manual evaluation of the sheets, which is prohibited.
In view of these lacuna, there are doubts about the authenticity of the merit list and therefore this examination must be scrapped and a new examination conducted, she pleaded. The judge issued notices and directed the respondents to file a counter affidavit within three weeks.
