Hyderabad: Roads at Nampally junction pose an awful experience to the commuters. The roads are badly damaged at many places and potholes remain the entire year whether it is rainy season or not.
There are at least 10 such spots where the entire road is only potholes while coming from Board of Intermediate (BIE) towards railway station and towards Bazarghat area. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been claiming to repair the roads, interior roads and by lanes, but the prima facie evidences are different altogether.
Seeping drainage is a common site on this route the entire year. This road was repaired one year ago and since then the people are left to have a bumpy ride for at least half a kilometer from the Ekminar junction to Nampally railway station and towards Mallepally.
Jameel who sells Roti on this stretch said that this road becomes very tough to wade through for vehicular traffic when it rains. He said, “Even during the normal weather, the potholes slow down the traffic movement and officials concerned were ignoring this stretch for the reasons only known to them.”
He lamented that a patch work was done seven months ago and that could not stand for at least two months. Similarly, the route towards Nampally station has the potholes and largely damaged roads where heavy vehicles like buses could not pass on easily. Ironically, this route is one of the busiest route in the city.
