TS Govt declares holiday to educational institutions, offices in Hyderabad today

Following the heavy downpour that paralyzed the city life in Hyderabad on Monday evening, the Telangana government has declared a holiday for educational institutions and government offices on Tuesday.

It is the highest rainfall registered in Hyderabad in the last 10 years in the month of October with 13.2 cm recorded at Meeralam.

Relief operations have been intensified on a priority basis in the city as the rainwater has been stagnant at various parts of the city.

Moderate to heavy rains are likely to continue in the Telugu states for the next three days due to depression over the Bay of Bengal, according to Indian Meteorological Department.

The GHMC officials have warned the city residents to be on alert as heavy rains are expected.
