Hanamkond: The strike of outsourced employees and contract workers (artisans) of the electricity department seeking regularisation of their jobs entered fourth day on Tuesday. District Congress Committee (DCC) president Nayini Rajender Reddy and Telugu Desam politburo member Revuri Prakash Reddy, who met the striking employees separately, have extended their support to them.

Stating that the demands of the workers are justifiable, Rajender Reddy criticised the State government for its lack of concern towards the employees. Speaking on the occasion, Prakash Reddy alleged that the government is trying to suppress the voice of the people. He criticised the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for ignoring the employees who played a vital role in the Telangana movement.

“KCR who promised to eradicate the contract employee system in the State has turned his back,” he said. TDP leaders Pulluru Ashok Kumar, Jatoth Santhosh Naik, Md Raheem and Margam Sarangam were among others present.
