Khammam: Tight security arrangements were made for smooth conduct of Assembly elections in the district in a peaceful atmosphere, informed the Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal here on Wednesday.

The top cop inspected the polling stations that were established at Chirrumarri, Suvarnapuram and Goginapalli villages of Mudigonda mandal here in Khammam.

Interacting with the local people, CP Tafseer Iqbal appealed to the people to extend their cooperation for conducting the elections in a peaceful atmosphere.

He cautioned them not to indulge in unnecessary fights and attack each other others during election process. Cases will be lodged against such persons, he warned.

If people are involved in cases, they must face a lot of problems going round to police stations and courts and wasting their valuable time along with spoiling their bright future, he advised.

Elections will be conducted transparently with perfect arrangements under the Election Commission of India under the supervision of central police and local police forces. People must not believe in any rumour floating around regarding the election process, said Tafseer Iqbal. ACP Ramoji Ramesh and CI Ramesh other police personnel were present on the occasion.
