Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu floated a non-BJP front at the national level only to distract people from his government’s failures whereas Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao brought to the fore the concept of non–BJP and non-Congress Front to bring a qualitative change in the entire country, newly appointed Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K T Rama Rao said on Saturday. Participating in Meet the Press here, KTR said that Chandrababu’s charisma waned at national level and his winning prospects in his native AP are also bleak in the 2019 elections, as his government failed on all fronts.

In a bid to survive politically, the TDP chief came out with an agenda exposing the BJP led union government’s failures and conceal the non-performance of his government. Stating that the AP politics are in fluid situation, the TRS leader alleged that Chandrababu is confusing the Andhra people on Special Status issue.

The Telugu Desam chief himself accepted special package announced by the centre. Later, he took U-turn and chanting special status mantra. The local political parties should decide on special status before the outside parties take a stand on the contentious issue, he added. Rama Rao asserted that the AP people should keep the national parties at bay and elect regional parties to rule their State on their own.

He clarified that his TRS is maintaining equal distance with all political parties in Andhra Pradesh. The TDP was considered a rival party for TRS only during the elections, the TRS leader said he would not hesitate to visit AP but only at an appropriate time.

He stressed the need that coalition government with a bunch of regional parties at the centre will help to bring a substantial change in the lives of people in the country. The objective of KCR’s front is to bring a qualitative change in the lives of all sections of people mainly farmers and poorer communities. The TRS government’s flagship programmes - Rythu Bandhu, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya etc are considered role model and the same will have to be enforced in the country.

To a query, KTR said that though the MPs count from Telangana is just 17, every single elected MP from the TRS is considered precious to form a coalition government at the centre. He exuded confidence that KCR will play a vital role in the coalition politics in India in the future and the Telangana policies will be put on the national agenda.
