Villagers gherao panchayat office at Isnapur

Patancheru: Villagers of Isnapur of Patancheru mandal staged a protest before village panchayat office condemning the supply of contaminated drinking water on Monday. While Telangana State government claims to provide clean drinking water to all, the residents of Isnapur villagers are being supplied with polluted water pumped out from polluted ground water, alleged villagers during the protests.

Villagers thronged gram panchayat office with empty vessels in protest against the authorities. They issued a warning that they would boycott the upcoming village panchayat elections if the problem was not addressed at the earliest. Angered by stoppage of water supply since last week, the villagers locked the panchayat gate and sat before the office with empty vessels. They said that ground water in the industrial areas was polluted and cannot be consumed.
