Karimnagar: Telugu feature film ‘Poorna’, a biopic on Malavath Poorna – a tribal girl from Nizamabad – filmed by the State government will be screened on Sunday (November 5) at Venkateshwara and Mamatha theatres in Karimnagar district and at Annapurna theatre in Huzurabad from 8.30 am to 10.30 am.

Joint-Collector Badri Srinivas discussed about the movie screening with district officials and the owners of theatres at his chamber in the Collectorate here on Friday. Speaking at the meeting, the J-C said that the 13-year-old tribal girl Malavath Poorna, studying in Tribal Welfare Residential School, has created a record by climbing the Everest Mountain.

The government is screening the movie free for the students of government schools, intended to make them draw inspiration from Poorna and to have higher goals. He ordered the officials of various departments to make arrangements to transport the students, studying at SC and ST welfare hostels and residential schools, to the three theatres by 8 am.

Also on the occasion of International Children’s Festival, children’s films will be screened at Tirumala theatre in Karimnagar from November 8 to 14, three shows per day. He ordered the officials concerned to make arrangements for the students studying in both private and government schools to see the films in the theatre.

“All the films are message-oriented. By watching them the students must get inspired and must reach higher positions in their life,” advised Badri Srinivas. SC Welfare Officer Yadaiah, District Tribal Welfare Officer Ambaji, Coordinator of Gurukul Schools Ananth Lakshmi, Deputy Director of Information Department Venkateshwar Rao, Deputy Executive Engineer Radha Krishna and the Supervisor of the District Education Department Narasimha Swamy were present along with others.
