We are constantly on the lookout for a new look every time we step out for that special dinner, coffee or even brunch. When it comes to perfecting the right look, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Bright, bold and no-makeup being the crowd favourite, here is a stunning and surreal make-up trend that is slowly making its way to limelight - Holographic Makeup.

Style experts Vanlalmuanpuii and Khusbu Bugchhen Rai from green trends Unisex Hair & Style Salon show us just how to nail that perfect holographic look for your special date.

Holographic makeup is all about flaunting dazzling shades of make-up on your face. Ranging from Green, pink, lilacs, purple or even blue, Holographic make-up infuses oodles of glitter, shiny highlighters and pearlescent lipstick to bring out the radiance.

A key tip in this make-up is always highlighting one striking feature of the face to boost the glam quotient.

Start the make-up by hydrating your skin with the routine cleansing, toning and moisturising regime. Using a primer that best suits your skin colour, even out your skin and give it a smooth base. Start working on the base by applying a concealer to cover any dark spots or even dark circles around the eye area. Apply foundation on top of this and contour your t-zone, chin, cheek bones and forehead to sharpen your facial features.

Eyes-eyes baby
Now that the base is set, let’s move on to the most important feature for the look. One of the striking facial features for most women will be the eyes. One of the techniques that go hand-in-hand with holographic makeup is the cut crease technique wherein two different shades cut across each other, without being blended together in order to enhance the eye shape.

Start your eye make up by defining your eyebrows and fill it in with a shade of brown to make it appear natural. Using cut crease technique start filling the outer corner of your eyes with a mix of dark purple and dark pink eye shadows. Add a tad bit of white shimmer to the inner corner to further open up your eyes. Line your waterline with metallic white liner to instantly brighten your eyes and finish of the look by adding artificial lashes for a dramatic look.

Shimmer all the way
To accentuate one’s cheekbones, choose a shade of blush that best compliments the eyes and apply the same on the apples of your cheeks. Dab white shimmer and highlight your T zone, cheeks, chin, and forehead to keep the holographic look intact. Finish the overall look with a subtle, almost nude lip gloss. Set your makeup with a good fixing spray to keep the metallic look in place.

For the hair
For a romantic up do works best for this look. Curl the hair with tongs and tie the hair into any pretty up do, add side bangs to up the glamour quotient. Set the overall look with a fixing spray.
