The camps are being organised to train girls on life skills, language skills and also about how to face life and hardships

The Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APSWREIS) is conducting special camps for girls aged from 11 to 16 in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The camp which began on Monday, is imparting knowledge on life skills, communication skills and also about how to face life and hardships.

The brainchild behind the camp, RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary of Social Welfare Society said that he is conducting these camps to create awareness among the girls on, how important it is to be educated. "These camps are being organised to train girls on life skills, communication skills and also about how to face life and hardships," he added.

"Girls should set goals and should struggle to fulfill it. They should have the urge to learn more and expand their knowledge. Start asking questions to teachers while she is teaching and try to learn more," he added.

The camp is being organised in collaboration with Voice 4 Girls, an American NGO. About 1,200 girls are being trained under Averil Spencer, programme manager. A About 100 counsellors and volunteers from different colleges in Hyderabad came together to serve these girls. The programme is going to be conducted at Machilipatnam and Kurnool as well. The programme will be on till June 11.
