Apple is getting ready for its big product release this month. There is an event planned for October 28. The event is said to be called "Pro and Tell". This event comes after the company’s event on October 13 called "Welcome Home". At that event Apple showed off products, for its home system.

This event will not be an Apple event, like the September 9 launch but Apple is expected to show several new devices. Apple has already started inviting media members to Los Angeles so they can try the products. Apple has not yet announced its lineup yet Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared what might be announced.

Among the biggest expected launches is Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro.

Touchscreen MacBook Pro could be the star

The new MacBook Pro is said to bring two changes for Apples laptops: an OLED screen and the ability to use a touchscreen. The look might also be different with Apple planning to swap the MacBook notch, for the Dynamic Island that’s on the iPhone.

The shift to OLED technology could bring blacks more vibrant colours and better contrast, which would make the screen very attractive to people who work with pictures and videos. OLED screens might not be as bright as mini-LED screens, in the brightest parts.

The touchscreen is expected to support familiar tap and swipe gestures while retaining the keyboard and trackpad. Apple is also reportedly working on a reinforced hinge to prevent the display from wobbling during touch input.

The OLED MacBook Pro could arrive in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes and may be lighter than current models. Apple could continue using M5 Pro and M5 Max chips for these models instead of moving to the next generation. Pricing is expected to be higher than current models, although the exact figures remain unknown.

M6-powered MacBook Pro and iMac

Apple is also expected to refresh its entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip, replacing the M5 processor introduced in October 2025. The design is unlikely to change significantly.

The 24-inch iMac could receive a similar treatment, with the M6 chip providing the main upgrade while the familiar all-in-one design remains intact.

OLED iPad mini 8 could bring bigger changes

The iPad mini 8 is another anticipated launch. The compact tablet could become the first iPad outside the Pro lineup to feature an OLED display.

Apple may also introduce a redesigned speaker system using vibration instead of conventional speaker holes. This could improve water resistance and potentially make the iPad mini 8 the first iPad to receive an IP rating.

The tablet is expected to feature the A20 Pro chip, which is also tipped to power the iPhone 18 Pro models. The front camera could move to the landscape edge, while Apple may still be deciding between a 60Hz display and 120Hz ProMotion technology.

These upgrades could make the iPad mini 8 considerably more expensive. Reports suggest it could cost around $200 (roughly Rs 18,992) more than the current model, which starts at $599 (around Rs 56,883) in the US.

When could the devices go on sale?

Apple is expected to unveil the products on October 28, with some devices potentially reaching stores on November 6. Pre-orders could begin on launch day, although Apple has yet to confirm the schedule or the products it plans to announce.

If the reports prove accurate, the touchscreen MacBook Pro and OLED iPad mini could mark some of the biggest changes to Apple’s Mac and compact tablet lineups in years.
