Samsung Galaxy Fold, the first foldable smartphone got launched in India today at noon.

Samsung Galaxy Fold, the first foldable smartphone got launched in India today. The smartphone launch was delayed due to many hardware issues that were disclosed by some reviewers after the phone was unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2019. The problems involved with screen damage.

Now, finally, we can purchase the phone after taking much needed time to fix the issues. The smartphone first debuted in the Korean markets, shadowed by a launch in the US market last week. A YouTube channel Jerry Rig Everything shared a hands-on video of the redesigned Galaxy Fold.

Samsung made the following changes to the device design.

• The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel. So, the users will not be able to remove it.

• Additional reinforcements have been provided, most likely to the hinge, for better protection of the device from external particles.

• With newly added protection caps the top and bottom part of the hinge has been strengthened.

• For protecting the screen, metal layers underneath the Infinity Flex Display have been included.

• Space has been reduced between the hinge and body of Galaxy Fold.

Ahead of Samsung Galaxy Fold sale, there are rumours that Samsung is already working on another foldable smartphone that may be launched along with the Galaxy S11 smartphone series in February 2020.

Samsung Galaxy Fold Specifications

When it is folded, you see a very narrow 4.6-inch display that appears very pocket-friendly and comfortable to hold even if your hand size is bit small. When opened, you will see a more spacious 7.3-inch display with a massive notch. Samsung has called it as an Infinity Flex Display.

The screen resolution of 840x1960 (4.6-inches) or 1536x2152 (7.3-inches), a "7 nm" chipset, a whopping 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of uberfast UFS 3.0 storage. Samsung didn't disclose which 7 nm chipset it's using.

This device will be flaunting six cameras. Three are on the back, two on the front of the 7.3-inch display and one on the front of the 4.6-inch screen.

The smartphone may come in four colours Cosmos Black, Space Silver, Martian Green and Astro Blue.
