13 cities including Hyderabad makes 70 per cent coronavirus cases in India
As many as 13 cities including Hyderabad has made 70 per cent of coronavirus cases in the country. Cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Thane, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chengalpattu and Thiruvallur were included in the list.
Hyderabad: As many as 13 cities including Hyderabad has made 70 per cent of coronavirus cases in the country. Cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Thane, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Chengalpattu and Thiruvallur were included in the list.
A meeting was held by Union cabinet secretary with all the municipal commissioners and district magistrates of 13 cities including Hyderabad to review the situation. Chief secretaries of all the states and Union Territories attended the meeting. The union cabinet secretary reviewed the measures being taken up by the municipal corporations in the state to tackle coronavirus.
The cabinet secretary asked the cities to define the containment zones geographically based on the factors like cases, contacts and geographical dispersion as that would help in enforcing the lockdown strictly. It also said that the municipal corporations can also announce the wards, zones and towns as containment zones.
Meanwhile, the chief secretary of the state Somesh Kumar said that the government is prepared to tackle any kind of situation. He said that the government can deal with even if the state reports one lakh cases.
