Mahbubnagar: A minor girl studying in intermediate first year at Pratibha Junior college in Mahbubnagar committed suicide by hanging to a ceiling fan at her home in Srinivas Nagar Colony of Jadcherla mandal on Saturday.

In spite of this incident, neither the parents nor the relatives lodged any complaint in the police station. Going into the details Sreya, (14), whose mother is an Anganwadi teacher and father a real estate businessman, residing Jadcherla mandal, had taken the extreme step of committing suicide fearing studies and pressure of exams.

It is said that on Saturday, Sreya along with her friend did not go to the college and had not told the same to her parents. However, Sreya's friend's mother had come to know about bunking of the college and she scolded Sreya's friend in the presence of Srerya.

Over this, Sreya was further depressed.

Even though her friend's mother had not even told anything to Sreya, however, Sreya who was already pressurised of studies and exam fear, slipped into depression and she feared that similar scolding from her parents.

However, Sreya had even called her father and informed about her absenteeism to the college. Though her father had not said anything to her, however, by the time he came back to his house, he found her daughter locked herself from inside and committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan.

With this sudden incident, Shreya's parents, relatives and other family members along with her friends have expressed shock.
