The Ameerpet-Hitec City metro stretch of corridor-III has been opened for commuters on Wednesday putting an end to traffic woes in the area.
The 10-km stretch consists of eight stations and only one train will be available for every 12 minutes as it is being run on an independent single line from Ameerpet to Jubilee Hills Check post. The train will then switch lines to Hitec City using a mix of conventional railway signalling and CBTC systems.

The metro train will not halt at Jubilee Hills check post, Pedhamma temple and Madhapur stations as they are under construction.
However, passengers can travel to Hitec City from Ameerpet in 18 minutes while it takes 55 minutes to travel to IT hub from Nagole metro station.
