Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam said identify the farmers belong to SC and BC-C who are under BPL and take steps so that they can cultivate hybrid vegetables under Pandiri scheme. She reviewed a meeting on the pilot project, here on Wednesday at conference at collectorate.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector directed officials concerned to grant a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh for cultivating hybrid vegetables. The farmers who have at least 2.5 acres of land with proper power and water facilities. She also said that widows, physically challenged, widows of the farmers who committed suicide, surrendered Maoists are preferred in this scheme. She suggested Executive Director of SC corporation to provide 200 native chicken to the widows of SC category so that they can set a small poultry farm on their backyards. She also said the ED to propose SC women to set up neem cake plants.

ED Babu Moses, District Agriculture Officer Gopal, LDM Sumalatha, animal husbandry official Vasantha Kumari, Scientists from Krishi Vignana Kendram Vijaykumar, Vidhyadhari were present.
