Drive against low-quality helmets in Cyberabad held
This is the first of its kind in the country where all helmet shop owners have come forward and broke all duplicate helmets and took an oath to curb selling of inferior quality helmets.
Hyderabad: This is the first of its kind in the country where all helmet shop owners have come forward and broke all duplicate helmets and took an oath to curb selling of inferior quality helmets.
In view of increasing menace of sale, distribution and usage of poor-quality and fake helmets in the city, Cyberabad Traffic Police constituted a special team and raided on the shops and godowns selling and storing low-quality and fake helmets in the limits of Cyberabad Commissionerate.
The team identified 10 such shops and registered criminal cases against the owners. This is the first of its kind in the country where all helmet shop owners have come forward and broke all duplicate helmets and took oath to curb selling of low-quality helmets.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, S M Vijay Kumar said many sellers of helmets in the city approached traffic police claiming that they would join hands with the police in curbing sale of such inferior quality and fake helmets in the city by discouraging buying, selling, distribution of such helmets which are against law.
