Nagarkurnool: The all-party meeting held at Veldada mandal witnessed hot debate on implementation of various welfare and development programmes in the mandal on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Veldanda Mandal Parisahd President Vijaya and attended by Kalwakurthy MLA Jaipal Yadav and ZPTC member Vijita Reddy.

The Sarpanches of various villages under Veldanda mandal along with the officials of different departments took part in the programme. The Sarpanches raised various issues pertaining to pending works of roads, Mission Bhagiratha works, construction of community halls and construction of drain lines in their respective villages.

Responding to this, the MLA said that all their concerns would be addressed and also assured them that all issues would be resolved one by one in a phased manner. He directed the officials concerned of various departments to ensure that all pending works were completed at the earliest and by next all-party meet the same issues should not be repeated. He said stern action would be taken against the officials for their failure to address the issues.

The MLA also directed the officials that it has come to his notice that some people were resorting to illegal venture layouts alongside the main highway without the permission of the government. He directed the revenue and police department to remove and demolish all such layouts that mushroomed without the Gram Panchayat's DTCP approvals. The Sarpanches of few villages raised complaints against the irregularities of Anganwadis in the villages.

They complained that the Anganwadis were not providing eggs and food for the children and resorting to corruption. Responding to this, ICDS official Chandaneshwar said that majority Anganwadis were working good however, if there are any issues with some they will immediately fix.
