Nalgonda: An unidentified man made an attempt to steal money from the State Bank of India branch located a few metres away from its head office and district SP office near Clock Tower centre in Nalgonda on Sunday late night. However, all his attempts went kaput after he failed to break the lock of the strong room.

According to sources, taking the advantage of festival and the cacophony of bursting crackers, the offender broke the lock of one of the entrances of the SBI bank on Sunday midnight and tried his to steal money from the bank. He stayed in the bank for more than two hours, but in vain.

He was forced to return with empty hands after he failed to enter the strong room of the bank. The staff, who reached the bank on Monday morning, noticed the incident and informed the same to bank manager Srinivas Reddy and the police.

Bank officials breathed easy as there no cash and jewellery was stolen from the bank.

However, the police teams collected fingerprints of the offender and collected CCTV footage from the bank officials to identify the offender.

Based on the compliant of bank manager Srinivas Reddy, Nalgonda Two Town SI Narasimha registered a case and took up the investigation.
