In three districts (Nalgonda, Jangaon, Kamareddy) where the survey was conducted by NIN (National Institute of Nutrition) of ICMR from May 15-17, 1200 samples were collected out of which only 4 turned out positive. A similar exercise was conducted in 5 containment zones in GHMC limits on May 30 and 31. As many as 500 samples with 100 each were collected from people above 18 years of age in Adibatla, Miyapur, Chandanagar, Balapur and Tappachabutra out of which only 15 came positive.

Teams from NIN took part in the survey and they were assisted by the Health department and GHMC staff.
