Political tensions are rising in Telangana over the voter list controversy. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar challenged the BJP state president Ramachandra Rao, stating he would present the affected individuals—those who lost their voting rights—along with evidence. He declared, "Name the date and time; I will prove the facts using Election Commission records." He emphasized that the issue is not about making arrests via police forces, but about directly presenting the victims whose votes were deleted.

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar recently spoke to the media, during which he lashed out at BJP state president Ramchander Rao and other BJP leaders. He made sensational allegations against the BJP leader. Ponnam revealed that an attempt had been made to delete his own vote as well. He alleged that the discrepancy between his father's name being listed as 'Sattaiah' in one instance and 'Satyanarayana Goud' in another was used as a pretext for this. He criticized the deletion of 70 lakh votes across Telangana, noting that votes belonging to SC, ST, BC, and minority communities—groups generally opposed to the BJP—were specifically targeted.

The Minister pointed out that the poor, the elderly, the illiterate, and daily-wage laborers are being forced to make repeated rounds of government offices just to prove their right to vote. He questioned the plight of the common man if even a former Vice President like Venkaiah Naidu faced such difficulties. He demanded to know the total number of votes deleted in the state and how many of those actually belonged to ineligible voters. They demanded the disclosure of clear figures regarding how many votes belonging to eligible voters were deleted by mistake. They remarked that speaking in a manner that belittles those questioning the right to vote runs counter to the spirit of democracy.
