Yalal: Kamalpur Sarpanch Baswaraj has said that the violators of Marriage Act would be imprisoned.
He spoke at a meeting held in Panchayat office, organised under the aegis of Child Line Protection on Friday.
The sarpanch said that bride should be of age 18 and bridegroom 21 to become eligible for getting married.
He also warned of serious measures against law violators.
Baswaraj appealed to the people to inform about child marriages by dialling 1098.
He assured of keeping the names of the informers secret.
Child Line representative Venkatesh, panchayat staff and others participated in the meeting.
