Osman Nagar still inundated in water

Hyderabad: Irked over the explanation of Jalpally Municipal Commissioner in not clearing the inundated water in Osman Nagar, the High Court Chief Justice bench on Monday directed the said Municipal Commissioner to appear before the court on Tuesday.

The High Court bench headed by Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy heard a plea filed by Syeda Begum, alleging that the inaction of Jalpally Municipal authorities for not clearing the water from Osman Nagar since incessant rains in October, has been causing lot of hardships to the residents of the area.

The Chief Justice wanted to the why the water was not pumped out even after two months have passed? Standing Counsel for municipalities N Praveen Kumar informed the bench that the other side of the bund also had a few colonies and there were certain problems in pumping out the water. However, water would be pumped out within a fortnight, he submitted.

CJ Chauhan enraged over the Counsel's submission, directed the Jalpally Municipal Commissioner to present before the court on Tuesday and give an explanation for the inaction in addressing the issue.
