AR constable suspended

Guntur: An AR police constable, Asodi Siva Nagaraju Reddy of Guntur district, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect by the Superintendent of Police, Vakul Jindal for misconduct while on duty. He issued orders to this effect on Wednesday.

According to reports, Nagaraju Reddy was found engaging in gambling under the name “Kotha Mukka” at a house located in 3rd Line, Koritepadu area of Guntur city. He was allegedly participating in the activity with betting money when he was apprehended by Arundelpet Police. In this connection, a case has been registered at Arundelpet Police Station under Sections 3 and 4 of the Andhra Pradesh Gaming Act. Further, the act is considered a violation of Rule 3 of the APCS (Conduct) Rules, 1964. In view of the seriousness of the misconduct, the SP has ordered the immediate suspension of the constable and directed a detailed departmental inquiry into the incident.
