Two-day Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh sports Academies selections begin

Krishna District Sports Authority (DSA) began the two-day selections for the admissions into Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Academies at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city on Wednesday. These selections had evoked good response from medalists from a total of 11 disciplines from Krishna district.

Krishna District Sports Authority (DSA) began the two-day selections for the admissions into Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Academies at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city on Wednesday. These selections had evoked good response from medalists from a total of 11 disciplines from Krishna district.

SAAP will start seven Academies in 11 sports disciplines and will select 20 talented players who are of the age of 15 to 18 age and medal winners of International, National, state and district levels including school games and inter university championships.

DSA is conducting the selections by taking cooperation from concern district sports associations. Talented players will be admitted into Boxing, Badminton, Weightlifting, Judo, Gymnastics, Archery, Cycling, Riffle shooting, Taekwondo, Athletics and Fencing academies which will set up in different districts.

Krishna District Sports Development Officer (DSDO) B Srinivasa Rao supervised the selections which were started at IGMC stadium, Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao (DRR) Indoor stadium and NTR stadium at Gudivada in Krishna district.

DSDO B Srinviasa Rao said that concern district sports association representatives have been cooperating with verifications of certificates for those who had attended the selections. The selections would be continued on Thursday and after completion of selections final list would submit to the SAAP, he added.
