Ongole: The Andhra University conferred doctorate on Yadala Anil Kumar for his research on the socioeconomic status of primitives and non-primitive tribes.
Anil Kumar, a native of Prakasam district did the research under the guidance of professors M Prasada Rao and R Ramakrishna and received the Ph D from the VC of AU G Nageswara Rao.

Anil Kumar was born into a poor family as the second son of Yadala Rantaiah and Peddammai, natives of Mattigunta village in Naguluppalapadu mandal.

He studied up to Intermediate at Uppugunduru and migrated to Guntur to study degree at AC College and completed post-graduation in Vizianagaram. His interaction with the local tribals helped him chose the topic, ‘Determinants of Socioeconomic status of primitive and non primitive tribes’.

He said that his thesis could be useful for the people who were studying the life conditions of tribals and to create a platform to uplift them in socially, educationally and financially. He thanked his professors Prasada Rao and Ramakrishna for guiding him and said that he was indebted for life to his parents and Andhra University.
