60-yr-old man impregnates own granddaughter
In a heinous crime, a 60-year-old man impregnated his own granddaughter (daughter’s daughter) who used to accompany him in grazing sheep. The incident took place in Uppaluru village under Kovelakuntla mandal in the district. The horrible crime came to light on Friday when doctors revealed that the minor girl was 7-months pregnant.

The incident took place in Uppaluru village under Kovelakuntla mandal in the district. The horrible crime came to light on Friday when doctors revealed that the minor girl was 7-months pregnant.
She was sent to Nandyal government hospital for further examination and the accused , Jinkala Pullaiah, was arrested by Revanuru police. Based on the complaint lodged by the girl's parents, police registered a case under Section 376 and 56 Act of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO). According to information, the girl, 16, had been accompanying her grandfather Pullaia while he grazed sheep.
Being a grandfather, neither her parents nor the villagers suspected anything on his part. Taking advantage of the girl's innocence, Pullaiah had been committing the crime for the last one year, according to sources.
Though the parents observed some changes in the body of the girl, they thought it was due to age. However, when she was taken to hospital on Thursday after falling sick, the doctor after examining her disclosed that she was 7-months pregnant. Shocked by this revelation, the parents pressed the girl to disclose what happened and she spilled the beans.
On learning of the incident, Allagadda DSP Tippe Swamy rushed to the victim's house and enquired the details and ordered the police officials to speed up the investigation.
