Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu
TDP national president and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has urged leaders and workers of the NDA alliance to ensure that turnout in the ZPTC and MPTC elections does not fall.
Speaking at a teleconference with senior NDA leaders and booth-level workers on Thursday morning, Naidu asked them to help older people, people with disabilities and other voters reach polling stations and cast their ballots. He also called on alliance workers to support the smooth conduct of the local elections.
Naidu said polling should be free and fair, and instructed workers to alert the police immediately if anyone tried to disrupt voting. He also asked them to report any alleged irregularities by the YSRCP, which he referred to as the “axe party” in reference to its election symbol.
He advised alliance workers to remain calm and exercise restraint if confrontations arose.
