Nandyal:District Collector G Rajakumari has called upon students to develop an interest in space science and cultivate a research-oriented approach to emerge as future scientists.
She spoke after inaugurating World Space Week celebrations at SVR Engineering College on Wednesday, organized by an ISRO scientist team.
She noted it is a matter of pride that Nandyal is among just six South Indian venues chosen for the October 4–10 events themed ‘Rocket Revolution’. Urging students to move beyond textbooks through practical experiments and exploration, Rajakumari emphasized that creativity and perseverance drive success in science and technology. She expressed confidence that today’s students will build advanced communication, AI, robotics, and rocket technologies.
Furthermore, she highlighted how space tech aids common people and farmers via weather forecasting, cyclone warnings, and crop monitoring.
Recalling Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, she advised students to dream big and work with discipline.
Later, the Collector distributed mementos to students presenting cultural programs. SHAR ISRO Deputy Director Dr S Shankaran, senior scientist T Srinivasa Reddy, scientist Aditya, and college faculty participated.
