Anantapur: Raptadu MLA Paritala Sunitha stated that revolutionary changes are underway in the horticulture sector through the ‘Rayalaseema Global Horticulture Hub’ initiative.

Addressing farmers during an awareness program at Gangulukunta village, she inspected local sweet orange orchards and highlighted plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore and expand horticulture to 14.41 lakh hectares by 2030.

Contrasting with the previous YCP regime’s limited spending, she noted the alliance government has allocated Rs 20,884 crore for irrigation and Rs 15,000 crore for horticulture. She cautioned farmers against purchasing substandard seedlings or counterfeit seeds, urging them to demand official receipts and instructing officials to cancel licenses of unauthorized nurseries.

Furthermore, she recommended crop rotation to avoid market price crashes.

As part of the ‘Palle Panduga-3.0’ program, MLA Sunitha performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a CC road from the national highway to Gangulukunta, funded with Rs 1.20 crore.

Addressing water scarcity issues, she assured that water would be supplied to the Gangulukunta tank from Gondireddypalli next year. She detailed various regional works, including a Rs 4.90 crore Pandameru bridge, a Rs 2 crore bridge at Prasannayapalli, a Rs 1.65 crore park, and Rs 2.68 crore for the Pandameru Venkataramana Swamy temple development.

TDP leaders, officials, and villagers participated in large numbers.
