Tadepalligudem: Students should develop habit of thinking differently from the school level, as creative ideas can pave the way for remarkable innovations in future, AP NIT Dean of Planning and Development Dr V Sandeep said.

Fifty first-year Intermediate students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas at Chilakaluripet in Guntur district and Ongole in Prakasam district visited the AP NIT campus here on Thursday. The visit was organised under the guidance of AP NIT In-charge Director Prof NV Ramana Rao and on the directions of Registrar Dr P Dinesh Shankar Reddy.

The students visited the sports complex, laboratories, workshops and library on the campus. Addressing the students, Dr Sandeep said students could gain a better understanding of subjects when they combined classroom learning with practical observation.

Students should constantly explore new ideas and try to find innovative solutions to problems, he said, adding that today’s students would become tomorrow’s scientists, engineers and innovators.

Later, the faculty felicitated Dr Sandeep with a shawl and memento. Teachers Jayaprakash, Saritha, Ananthasri, Sirisha and others participated in the programme.
