IndiGo set to add one more flight to Chennai
Catering to the demands of passengers, IndiGo will soon be adding a new flight from Visakhapatnam to Chennai with effect from July 1.
Visakhapatnam: Catering to the demands of passengers, IndiGo will soon be adding a new flight from Visakhapatnam to Chennai with effect from July 1. Flight number 6E-6001 will take off from Visakhapatnam international airport at 5:50 pm and land at Chennai airport at 7 pm.
At present, IndiGo is operating two flights from Visakhapatnam to Chennai (one in the noon and the other in the evening). According to sources from the airport, the load factor of the flights is more than 90 per cent and a new flight will help in meeting the demand.
Vice-president of Andhra Pradesh Air Traveler's Association (APATA) D S Varma said, "After the withdrawal of Sri Lankan airlines from Visakhapatnam, there is a need to connect passengers from Visakhapatnam to Colombo. Apart from this new addition, we need an early morning flight from Visakhapatnam to help connect the passengers with Sri Lanka flight as Chennai has connecting flights to Colombo."
