Nadendla Manohar unveils plans to stabilise prices, says will provide onions for Rs. 32

Andhra Pradesh Minister Nadendla Manohar stated that the state government has taken measures to control the prices of essential commodities. He announced that the government would provide onions at ₹32 per kilogram in Andhra Pradesh and that sales would begin next week across 115 Rythu Bazaars. Onions will also be supplied through mobile counters. He further stated that the government would provide subsidized *kandipappu* (red gram dal) alongside rations, selling it at 25–30% below market rates. He revealed that the Centre would assist in procuring 1.20 lakh metric tonnes of red gram.

The Minister mentioned that red gram dal would be distributed over a period of four to five months and that discussions would be held with the Centre to control palm oil prices. He announced a change in PDS rice distribution, reducing the broken rice content from 25% to 10%, and noted that the Centre plans to implement this AP pilot project nationwide. He stated that 1,000 'Mee Mart' stores would be launched by October 1, with 870 stores already prepared. These stores will sell 64 types of essential commodities at low prices, with goods available in small packets of 100g, 250g, and 500g.

Nadendla also confirmed that payments to farmers for paddy procurement would continue to be made within 24 hours, adding that arrangements are in place to procure 37–38 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. The Minister stated that the distribution of sugar and Bengal gram under the PDS is continuing as usual and mentioned that the goal is to supply palm oil along with rations soon. He also announced that a 25-day gap requirement for LPG re-booking is set to come into effect. The Minister welcomed the launch of a political party by Vijayasai, noting that anyone is free to start a party, and welcomed Vijayasai Reddy's entry into politics. Meanwhile, as part of a two-day visit to Delhi, Minister Nadendla Manohar met with Nidhi Khare, the Managing Director of the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India and Secretary of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs.
