Nandu's World Nandana detained in Hyderabad: Here is journey to her digital fame

YouTuber Nandana has been detained by police at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad on Monday following the fake job promises allegations against her. The Ibrahimpatnam police are now preparing to take further legal action based on existing cases and investigations.

Nandana’s journey into the limelight started June 2020 with her YouTube channel with short, casual videos, initially posted for fun. Her distinctive voice, which was initially mocked by some viewers, became a defining feature of her online persona. Over time, she transformed her content into a well-organised platform, focusing on relatable comedy and domestic situations.

Her channel, Nandu’s World, grew rapidly. millions of subscribers and views. Her most-watched video alone garnered over 21 million views. Nandu is credited with scripting and directing these videos, which often depict everyday family disagreements, household frustrations, dieting struggles, and banter.

Her popularity also extended into mainstream Telugu entertainment. Nandana made a cameo appearance in the film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad, starring Chiranjeevi, released in January. This cameo exemplified how her internet fame had permeated traditional Telugu cinema.

However, Nandana and her husband, Jagarlamudi Madhukar, face serious allegations of fake UK employment, visa facilitation, and sponsorship certificates. Nevertheless, Nandana has denied the allegations on her and the investigation would reveal how far the allegations on her are true.
