Revenue officials shifted over sixty families to relief camp set up at the Zilla Parishad High School in Ramapuram village as Krishna river floodwater inundated the village and entered several houses.
Guntur: Revenue officials shifted over sixty families to relief camp set up at the Zilla Parishad High School in Ramapuram village as Krishna river floodwater inundated the village and entered several houses.
The roads in the village are under three feet deep water. The officials pressed boats into service to shift the elders and children to safer places on boats. They shifted valuables like TVs and other goods from the houses on the boats. The floodwater submerged crops in hundreds of acres in the village.
Similarly, in Daida village, flood water entered village and the famous Lord Amaralingeswara Swamy temple was waterlogged. The temple authorities closed the temple. The floodwater inundated agriculture fields in the hundreds of acres and roads in the Gottimukkala village.
Floodwater entered the village. Following flood threat, the Revenue officials were put on high alert. Speaking to The Hans India, Gurazala Revenue Divisional Officer J Pardha Saradhi said, "The leaves of the Revenue officials were cancelled in the division and were put on high alert. So far we have shifted over sixty families to the relief camps and provided necessary facilities to the victims in the relief camp. We are ready to face the situation."
Road connectivity was cut off between Amaravati and Vijayawada following overflowing of flood water on the road at Peda Maddur village in Guntur district on Thursday. Similarly, road connectivity was cut off at Jadapalli Tanda under Achampet mandal of Guntur district.
As a result, the road connectivity was cut off between Madipadu and Jadapallitanda. Following heavy discharges in the Krishna river, the Revenue officials decided to shift over fifty families residing at Mahanadu first and second line, as a precautionary measure.
