Rajamahendravaram: Lions Club second governor Maturi Manga Tayaru said that women members of the club are in frontline to serve the needy in society.
The women members were participating in many programmes and getting laurels from various quarters.
Felicitating Swarnandhra founder Dr Gubbala Rambabu at old age home here on Sunday, she said that he served the migrant workers and hapless people during Covid-19 pandemic continuously for 200 days though he suffered funds crunch.
Lions Club across the globe also striving for the wellbeing of the people and implementing many projects.
It was time for non-governmental organisations to raise to the occasion. Later, with the charity of club secretary, utensils were given to the inmates of the oldage home and served food.The club former president, K Vijaya Lakshmi distributed fruits and blankets to the inmates.
Swarnandhra founder Dr Gubbala Rambabu honoured the governor with ashawl and memento. Club regional chairman K Ramesh, zone chairman M Bhavani, RamalingaReddy and others were present.
