Strong desire to serve will help crack IAS

Vijayawada: Director, handlooms and textiles, APCO and Lepakshi managing director Himamshu Shukla said that those who have a strong desire to serve the society, especially the downtrodden and weaker sections, will have a bright chance to crack the prestigious civil service exam.
Speaking at the annual day celebrations of the Takshashila IAS Academy at Mana Kalyana Vedika (Kanuru) here on Sunday, Shukla said that proper planning with Handlooms director systematic hard work would pave the way for success. Civil service exam is not much difficult if one has a strong desire on success, he said.
Recalling that he started dreaming to become an IAS officer at a very young age, the eminent bureaucrat, who secured top rank in India's toughest exam, advised the aspirants to start preparation as early as possible. Courses like Inter plus IAS and degree plus IAS will immensely help students to realise their dream, he said.
Shukla explained in detail as to how to overcome preliminary and main exams with his own examples. He also stressed the need to have a firm grip on current affairs and general knowledge.
Earlier, he answered the questions posed by the aspirants and clarified their doubts on cracking the exam. Later, Shukla distributed scholarships worth Rs 40 Lakh to the meritorious and talented students of the academy.
Takshasila Academy managing director Dr B S N Durga Prasad said that the academy was planning to introduce more incentives to academically bright students in the coming days.
Reiterating the academy's commitment for quality coaching, Dr Prasad said the first time in the history of civil service coaching in India, their academy announced scholarships worth one crore to meritorious and talented students. Academic director Dr N Nageswara Rao IAS (Retd) also spoke. Earlier, dance and song performances by the aspirants enthralled the audience.
