Eluru: A group of people lodged a complaint with Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani that some TDP leaders had resorted to collection of money from them with an assurance to build multi-stored buildings. The victims approached the Deputy CM when the TDP leaders resorted to physical attacks on them when they asked to return the money or provide housing.

People from Dakshinapu Veedhi, Kattepu Veedhi and other areas complained that during TDP regime, they had deposited lakhs of rupees of their hard-earned money with the local leaders of the TDP when they were assured of buildings for the poor.

Now, when they approached them to know progress of the buildings, the leaders had been engaging goons to attack them, they complained. A few women told the minister that they had hospitalized because of the mental trauma caused by the loss. A woman who deposited Rs 70,000 for the house wept in the presence of the Minister stating that there was no house constructed even after two years of payment.

Assuring support to the victims, the Minister advised such victims cheated by the TDP leaders to approach police and lodge complaints so that the law will take its own course.
