Vijayawada: Theater legend AR Krishna was remembered at a meeting organized by Artistes' Association here on Wednesday. Gummadi Gopalakrishna, the chief guest of the meeting said that it is his good fortune to be the disciple of AR Krishna.

He also said that while launching repertory, Guru Krishna had taken him in that. He also stated that under his guidance, Gopalakrishna acted as Sagarudu in Mrichakatikam, an adaptation of Sanskrit original and also a role in an experimental social play called 'Jeevannatakam'.

"Ammoru," directed by AR Krishna staged in a make believe village spawned across a large campus in Hyderabad. Gopalakrishna added that he learned much about expressions both in social and mythological plays.

Dr Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, theater research personality and also writer said that AR Krishna was a walking encyclopedia as far as drama was concerned. He said that AR Krishna made many experiments on stage and made a way to the next generation.

P Panduranga Rao, founder of the organization recollected his memories as student of AR Krishna. Madugula Ramakrishna conducted the meeting. Earlier, vocal concert of Malladi Sindhu, Rageswari, Abhigna, Asasvi and Lohita was well received by audience.
