Total prohibition will be implemented in State in phased manner: Deputy CM K Narayanaswamy
Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy stated that total prohibition will be implemented in the state in a phased manned with some relaxations to certain categories.
Chittoor: Deputy Chief Minister K Narayanaswamy stated that total prohibition will be implemented in the state in a phased manned with some relaxations to certain categories. By reducing the number of wine shops, the government has lost a revenue to a tune of Rs.1400 crore. he said.
Speaking to The Hans India on Sunday, the Dy.CM who holds Minister for Excise port-folio explained the government's commitment in implementing total prohibition in the state. ``By reducing 33 percent wine shops in the state , the excise revenue has come down from Rs.4,380 crore. to Rs.2,980 crore. Consequently, 43,000 belt shops and 4,350 permit rooms were also removed,'' he said. To develop tourism and to protect the interests of big hotels, relaxation of rules is essential while implementing prohibition, the Dy CM said.
As many 27.0 lakh house sites will be distributed by July 8 on the occasion of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy on the occasion of his birth-anniversary, Narayana Swamy said.
He complimented that District Collector N B Gupta was doing laudable job for developing the district as role model in the state .
