Vijayawada: District Collector visits Disha centre

Vijayawada: District Collector Mohammad Imtiaz on Friday visited the Disha centre arranged at the old government general hospital and spoke to the staff and enquired about the facilities provided at the centre. He said the women victims can get help from the departments of Police, Woman and Child Welfare and the judiciary at the Disha centre. He lamented over the incidents of crime against women and girls that still continue unabated. He consoled the family members of the minor girl, who was raped in Nuzvid.

The District Collector assured the family members that the culprit would be punished and informed that case under POCSO has been already registered against the accused. He felt perception should be changed in the people on the women and girls and regretted over the heinous act took place in Nuzvid two days ago.
