Visakhapatnam: Day care centre for cancer therapy at RINL
As a part of the employee welfare initiative, a standalone day care centre for cancer therapy was launched at Visakha Steel General Hospital, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) to provide cancer treatment for steel plant employees and dependents here on Monday
Visakhapatnam: As a part of the employee welfare initiative, a standalone day care centre for cancer therapy was launched at Visakha Steel General Hospital, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) to provide cancer treatment for steel plant employees and dependents here on Monday.
Inaugurating the oncology centre, Director (Personal), RINL Kishore Chandra Das said the facility has been adequately staffed by well-trained doctors, nurses and support staff apart from having spacious rooms.
"Therapy for cancer can be availed by the employees' dependents of Steel Plant on the premises. This will result in optimal utilisation of resources with appropriate care at minimal cost as many have been getting treated in other states."
Advisor, Medical Oncology of RINL Dr D Raghunatha Rao said the launch of the day care centre for cancer therapy is the beginning of a new trend in cancer care.
"The main advantage of the day care service is that it is economical for patients and saves their time," he added.
