A major alert for bank account holders as banks are set to remain closed for four consecutive days. Bank employees have called for a nationwide strike on September 11 to press for their demands. Bank unions announced this strike to pressure the Central Government regarding issues such as the implementation of a five-day work week, the immediate resolution of pension-related matters, and the introduction of performance-based incentive schemes.

Consequently, banking services will be disrupted on September 11. As employees go on strike, customers across the country will face difficulties in accessing banking services. Following this, the second Saturday, Sunday, and the Vinayaka Chavithi festival fall in succession, resulting in a four-day closure.

While banking services will be impacted by the strike on September 11, banks will remain closed on September 12 due to the scheduled second Saturday holiday. They will also be closed on Sunday, September 13. The following day, September 14, banking operations nationwide will come to a halt due to the Vinayaka Chavithi festival holiday. Thus, banks across the country will remain closed for four consecutive days, from September 11 to September 14.
