The upcoming Telugu family entertainer Crazy Kalyanam is all set for a grand world theatrical release on October 16 on the Dasara festive season. Directed by debutant Badrappa Gajula, it stars VK Naresh, Anupama Parameswaran, Tharun Bhascker and Akhil Uddemari in important roles.
Produced by Boosam Jagan Mohan Reddy under the Arrow Cinemas banner, it has rolled out the main shoot and the team is currently on a promotional song. Initially planned for October 30, the release was advanced after postponing Adarsha Kutumbam.
The director, whose home town is Bandamailaram near Medchal said that his liking towards movies was influenced by his family’s association with traditional art forms. He did a Bachelor of Fine Arts course before plunging into cinema and has created documentaries and tourism videos with more than 200 videos before helming this film.
Badrappa Gajula said that Crazy Kalyanam was inspired by his observation on how young women are forced to get married while they are pursuing education and that the movie attempts to reflect their feelings, aspirations and thoughts in a humorous and family-friendly manner.
Anupama Parameswaran agreed to come on board after hearing the story while Tharun Bhascker supposedly emotes nine different emotions in his important role. Dr. Gorati Venkanna has penned three songs for it.
The director hopes that this Telangana-based family drama will find resonance with people of all regions through its relatable dialogues, humour and emotive narration.
