India's media giant Star TV network has now come under the control of American studio giant, Walt Disney Studios.

India's media giant Star TV network has now come under the control of American studio giant, Walt Disney Studios. It is already known that Disney has acquired 21st Century Fox, a few months ago. As a part of the deal, Disney also got rights over Star Network by closing a deal of $71billion dollars with Fox.

With this Disney not only has rights over Fox subsidiaries like Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight, Fox 2000 pictures, Fox Family and Fox Animations but also all the channels that are under the control of Star India. With the deal, Disney also got hold over Tata Sky and Endemol Shine Group.

The acquisition gives a major boost to Disney which is planning to take on streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. Happy over the deal, Disney's Chairman-CEO, Bob Iger said, "Combining Disney's and 21st Century Fox's wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the pre-eminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era."
