Coronavirus in India: India on Saturday reported 268,833 fresh Covid-19 cases and 402 deaths in last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 14,17,820. The cumulative total for infections stand at 36,850,962, the Union health ministry stated.

There are a total of 6,041 confirmed cases of Omicron.

Coronavirus in Telangana: Telangana on Saturday reported 1,963 fresh COVID-19 cases and took the tally to 7, 07,162 while the death toll rose to 4,054 with two more fatalities.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded the highest number of fresh cases with 1,075 followed by Rangareddy (168) and Medchal Malkajgiri (150) districts, a bulletin said while providing details as of 5.30 PM today. The State reported 2,398 infections on Friday.

A total of 1,620 people recovered from the infection today. The cumulative number of recoveries till date was 6, 81,091.

The number of active cases stood at 22,017, the bulletin said.

Coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh: The cumulative coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh touched the 21 lakh mark on Saturday, a health bulletin stated.

After reaching the two-million mark on August 20, 2021, the next one lakh cases came in 148 days, the longest spell since the COVID-19 pandemic began in the state.

As 4,955 fresh cases were added in the 24 hours ending at 9 am on Saturday, the total number of cases now stood at 21,01,710.

The latest health bulletin said 397 more people got cured in a day, taking the total recoveries to 20,64,331.

One fresh fatality increased the death toll to 14,509. The number of active cases rose to 22,870, the bulletin added.

Visakhapatnam district registered 1,103 and Chittoor 1,039 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The remaining 11 districts in the state added less than 400 new cases each, with West Godavari logging the lowest with 55.

West Godavari reported one virus-related death.
