On May 10, the voting for the 224-member state assembly in Karnataka was conducted with a record-high voter turnout of 73.19%. The results of the election are scheduled to be declared on May 13. Both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are claiming victory and asserting that they will cross the "magic figure" required to form the government independently. Setback to State Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister JC Madhuswamy. Congress candidate Kiran Kumar is leading by 42 votes, JDS candidate Suresh Babu is in second place and Madhuswamy is in third place in Chikkanayakanahalli Assembly constituency of Tumakuru district.

JDS candidate Javarayi Gowda is leading from the Yeshwanthpur Assembly constituency after nine rounds of counting. BJP candidate ST Somashekhar is trailing by 4,736 seats. ST Somashekhar had defected to the BJP in 2019.
