Anitha hits out at Jagan, alleges plot to derail development

Amaravati: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Thursday accused YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of trying to create law and order problems in the state to discourage industries and investments from coming to the state.

Speaking to the media at the TDP state office, Anitha said the alleged “anarchy” during the previous government began with the demolition of the Praja Vedika and ended with the arrest of N Chandrababu Naidu. She claimed that the state was now witnessing development in several sectors because law and order had improved and investors were showing interest. Anitha alleged that Jagan was sending rowdy-sheeters onto the streets to create unrest and claimed that most of those accompanying him during his recent visits were rowdy-sheeters, ganja gangs and goons.

She said education minister Nara Lokesh had promised a DSC recruitment drive and filled 16,000 teacher posts within 150 days. Anitha recalled that she herself had secured a teaching job through the 2001 DSC during Chandrababu Naidu’s tenure and questioned why Jagan was allegedly targeting the teaching profession. The home minister said the government had responded to allegations and social media campaigns against the DSC recruitment process. She alleged that Jagan was repeatedly spreading the same falsehoods in an attempt to make people believe them. She also claimed that Lokesh had challenged the YSRCP three times on the DSC issue, but received no response.

Referring to the alleged attack on the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office, Anitha questioned whether people who produced evidence of securing DSC jobs should be attacked. She alleged that several of those involved had criminal records and accused Jagan of encouraging attacks on teachers.

Anitha further alleged that the former chief minister was creating disturbances to divert public attention from alleged irregularities in the APPSC and liquor-related issues. She warned that people would not accept politics involving rowdy-sheeters and said the government would not remain a silent spectator.

She said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was working round the clock to develop the State, while Jagan was allegedly attempting to obstruct development through acts of disruption.
